INTRODUCING THE

Flying Fish Difference

Flying Fish swimmers develop their abilities, overcome fears and gain confidence in no time. Our teachers are trained and certified in the Swim Schools International (SSI) methodology, emphasizing both skill development and comfort in the water. Our classes are tailored to the individual swimmer based on ability, not on a timeframe for completion. It means swimmers can move to the next level when they are ready instead of waiting for the entire class to reach their final goals. Our private, shiver free facility, friendly and professional staff, small class sizes, and flexible scheduling ensure swimmers develop confidence and new skills while having a lot of fun along the way.

STILL GOT QUESTIONS? WE GOT YOU!

Frequently Asked Questions

How does rolling enrollment work?

Rolling enrollment allows students to progress at their own pace instead of on a set, session-based timeline. Once the swimmer is enrolled, they remain enrolled until they age up, level up, or you notify us that you would like to drop the class. You must let us know before the 1st of the month if you intend to drop lessons or you will be charged for the full month of lessons.

What if there are no available class openings for my child's level?

We will send you a list of our class times that you can be waitlisted for. You can sign up for multiple waitlists at the same time. When a spot opens up we will reach out to you via email and phone call to offer the spot. Families will be given a deadline of 3 business days to respond. If we do not receive a response by the deadline, the swimmer will be removed from the waitlist and we will offer the spot to the next client on the list.

When will I be charged?

Currently enrolled clients are charged on the 1st of the month for the entirety of the month, based on the number of swim classes occurring in that time frame. Clients initially enrolling in the middle of the month will be charged at the time of enrollment. Tuition will be prorated for that month based on the number of classes they’ll take in that time frame. After that, they’ll be charged on the 1st of the month going forward.

How do I take a break or cancel enrollment?

You must let us know before the 1st of the month if you want to unenroll yourself or your child from classes to avoid being automatically charged. We do not provide refunds or credits if we do not receive proper notice of cancellation.

Do you have a registration fee?

Yes. We charge a $50 fee upon enrollment. This fee will cover your family for the entire year. A new fee will be charged on January 5th of each year the swimmer is enrolled.

Do you offer any discounts?

Each family member enrolled after the first will receive 10% off their tuition.

Do you have a referral benefit?

Yes. When you refer a friend to our facility, you will receive a $25 credit on your account to apply towards the next month’s tuition. The new family will get their registration fee waived. Please remember to have your friend mention your name in the ‘referred by’ section of their registration form.

What if the student needs to miss a class? Do you have a make-up policy?

We require 48-hours notice in advance of the absence to be eligible for a make-up class. Make-ups expire 30 days from the absence date.

What are my options if the swimmer is sick or an emergency arises?

Please reach out to our administrative team with as much notice as possible. We ask that swimmers do not attend class if they have symptoms of illness, are contagious, or if they have had a fever within the last 24 hours. We will work with you to figure out when your swimmer can return to classes and what make-up options we can accommodate.

What should I bring to lessons?

  • Swim clothes (The use of wetsuits or neoprene clothing is not allowed as it gives the students a false sense of their buoyancy)
  • Towel
  • Goggles if your swimmer likes to use them (Swimmers can use goggles for everything except safety skills.) We encourage goggles for swimmers in Beginner II and above.
  • Swim diaper for all swimmers under the age of 3 AND children over the age of 3 who are not fully potty trained. Wearing a swim diaper helps keep our pool clean and helps minimize pool closures. Children should not wear a regular diaper under their swim diaper, as it will disintegrate in the pool.
  • Unless needed for a medical reason due to illness/injury, we discourage the use of masks that cover the nose, nose clips, and snorkels in swim classes. Learning breath control, especially in emergency situations when these tools are not available, is super important. We are here to help you on that journey!

What are your teaching philosophies?

Each of our teachers completes rigorous training through Swim Schools International (SSI) to receive their swim teaching certifications. They complete online materials, classroom training, in-water training, and an apprenticeship in which they work with already certified teachers and current students.
We focus on establishing trust, water safety, and building strong foundational swim skills and strokes.
SSI’s curriculum is highly structured and promotes quality and consistency in our teaching. All instructors teach the same swim skills for each level and will give appropriately challenging progressions to each individual student. Though we teach the same curriculum, every teacher is encouraged to bring their own personality and creativity to your swimmer’s lesson to make for a fun and engaging class!

Do guardians need to be on the pool deck during youth swim classes?

We prefer all youth swimmers to be accompanied by an adult guardian. We require all swimmers under 10 years old to be accompanied by an adult guardian through the duration of their swim lesson. It’s common for our swimmers in that age group to need guardian support if they are nervous, need to use the bathroom, or have other unforeseen needs. If something unexpected arises, and you need to leave during the lesson, please inform a swim administrator. We are not able to provide child supervision outside of your swimmer’s designated class time.

How do youth swimmers pass their level and what happens next?

Your swimmer will pass their level when they can successfully complete the final goals of their level. Instructors will watch swimmers execute all passing skills during class, and if those skills are done with good technique, proficiency, and confidence, your swimmer will pass! Once the instructor passes your swimmer, you will talk to our administrative team about your next steps and available classes. If you need to wait for a class to open up for your swimmer, they may stay enrolled in their current class to continue working on skills. Our instructors will do their best to start working on the next level’s goals.

How do I know the right level for my child if they aren't a beginner?

Please reach out to the administrative team. We will ask about your swimmer’s previous experience and assess if we need to schedule a free evaluation to gauge which level is best for them within our program. After we select the appropriate level, we will work with you on class scheduling options.
